Earn Alliance Integrates Chainlink VRF To Help Power the Genesis NFT Mint for Last Remains

We’re excited to announce that Earn Alliance—a Web3 game community and tooling service—has integrated Chainlink Verifiable Random Function (VRF) on Polygon mainnet. By integrating the industry-leading decentralized oracle network, we now have access to a tamper-proof and auditable source of randomness needed to help power a fair and random Genesis NFT mint for Last Remains—a unique battle royale set in a post-apocalyptic, zombie-infested world. Ultimately this creates a more exciting and transparent user experience, as users have verifiable assurances that the randomness underpinning the Genesis NFT mint is truly fair.
Earn Alliance provides Web3 games with an all-in-one service for building communities, marketing NFT launches, and onboarding players. Specifically, Earn Alliance provides four critical services that connect Web3 games to players:
Community: The Alliance enables players to discover their next favorite game, connect with communities, get rewarded for their skills, mint soul-bound badges, and create verified game profiles.
Marketplace: The GG Exchange is an upcoming marketplace for Earn Alliance-powered games and players to transact their NFTs, helping promote cross-game awareness and giving players a one-stop-shop for their NFT transacting experience.
Directory and The Wall: Earn Alliance’s Game Directory provides players a universal hub to access and begin discovering thousands of aggregated Web3 games and their content.
Gamified Mints: Game mints are happening all the time and are easy to keep up with on the Rocket Launcher which features anticipated mints and soon to aggregate game mints from other platforms.
In addition to these services, we are actively aiming to solve the endemic problem of “not so fun” Web3 games that are currently plaguing the space by launching Last Remains. Last Remains puts a unique spin on the battle royale genre by pitting players against each other in a zombie-themed, post-apocalyptic world where stealth and strategy are just as important as raw aiming skill. It also features cutting-edge economics that puts players first—50% of all game revenue will be distributed back to skilled players through esports tournaments.
With the upcoming Genesis NFT open mint on May 16th, we needed access to a secure random number generator (RNG) that any user could independently audit to help provide players with verifiable assurances the minting process is tamper-proof. However, RNG solutions for smart contracts require several security considerations to prevent manipulation and ensure system integrity. For instance, RNG solutions derived from blockchain data like block hashes can be exploited by miners/validators, while off-chain RNG solutions derived from off-chain APIs are opaque and don’t provide users with definitive proof about the integrity of the process.
After reviewing various solutions, we selected Chainlink VRF because it’s based on cutting-edge academic research, supported by a time-tested oracle network, and secured through the generation and on-chain verification of cryptographic proofs that prove the integrity of each random number supplied to smart contracts.
Chainlink VRF works by combining block data that is still unknown when the request is made with the oracle node's pre-committed private key to generate both a random number and a cryptographic proof. The Last Remains Genesis NFT minting smart contract will only accept the random number input if it has a valid cryptographic proof, and the cryptographic proof can only be generated if the VRF process is tamper-proof. This provides our users with automated and verifiable assurances directly on-chain that the randomness underpinning the NFT mint is provably fair and was not tampered with by the oracle, outside entities, or the Earn Alliance team.
“Chainlink VRF solves the problem of on-chain randomness, which has historically been manipulated on-chain by validators or front-run by insiders. It levels the playing field between game creators and players by providing unparalleled transparency and fairness into the process behind an NFT mint, making it a crucial tool for attracting players to our NFT mint.”—Joseph “Coop” Cooper, Founder of Earn Alliance. “Soon, Earn Alliance will provide an end-to-end smart contract free mint service for all game developers to optionally choose Chainlink for on-chain randomness transparency for their game communities.”
About Chainlink
Chainlink is the industry-standard Web3 services platform that has enabled trillions of dollars in transaction volume across DeFi, insurance, gaming, NFTs, and other major industries. As the leading decentralized oracle network, Chainlink enables developers to build feature-rich Web3 applications with seamless access to real-world data and off-chain computation across any blockchain and provides global enterprises with a universal gateway to all blockchains.

About Earn Alliance
Founded by Joseph “Coop” Cooper in 2022, Earn Alliance exists to help steer gamers, communities and games in their exploration of this exciting future through the use of online social communities. Earn Alliance understands that the complexities of the blockchain industry can deter people from exploring opportunities within the space. The team wants to dissolve those barriers through the use of community, education and fun to help others unlock their potential. In November, Earn Alliance raised a seed round of 4.75 million from investors such as Fabric Ventures, CoinFund, Blockchain Coinvestors, Animoca Ventures, Stake Capital (Blackpool), MAD World, Athena Capital, HBR Advisors, Sukna Ventures, NLS Ventures, and Guild Alliance.
